The Pensioner

By Pensioner

I just do what I'm told

The plan was to be on the beach at 10am but the thick haar covered the area, so instead we sped out to Conifix to meet up with R&E and their little one. An hour and a half of uninterrupted play while the oldies nattered. But once back, and the cheesy pasta and prawn omelette consumed, the beach was there to play with until going home time. Though not her home - I had to ferry her crosstown through the traffic (a nod to Jimi there) to Blue Granny’s.
Out again to see the chums - only four of us. And whilst Celtic, those perennial self-styled underdogs (aye, right, etc), were winning their twelfth title in thirteen years, we were treated to Hearts away at St Mirren courtesy of St Mirren TV.
Shankland! Coming on as a sub and scoring the equaliser. We’ll miss him if he moves on this summer, as he probably will. Cliché time: Saturday will be an emotional goodbye. The first Hearts player since John Robertson in 1987-88 to score 30 goals in a single season. Legend.
