Wheeee We're Freeeeee!!

The storm last night did quite a bit of damage across Perth but here in my neck of the woods luckily we had just minor damage. There was a lot of rain and the wind gusts overnight topped 100kph in some places, now that's scary! We have a lovely holiday island about 20k off the coast here called Rottnest and they had gusts of 110k ugh!!

A big section of the fence along the street side of the lake fell down in the wind. Up close the base of those poles are rotted and I'm surprised its lasted this long.

The ducks and swans are not really caged in by the fence it's more to keep predators (like Jake;) out!

When we walked past this morning there was a lot of clucking and squawking from the trees on the other side where most of the Ibis hang out as if it had been a long and scary night and they were all glad it was over!

The water level has risen quite a lot and the swans and the duck entourage that follow them around were duck diving like there was no tomorrow, the surge of water must have stirred up some goodies from the bottom!

It's been a freezing day and I've had to wear extra clothes and gloves and scarf to stay warm, Jake has shivered every time I looked at him and burrowed even further under his blankets!

We're going down to 3C tonight and only up to 16C tomorrow so I'll be rugged up again. Ah winter, I'm not complaining just really trying to remember the summer heat!!
