Mama Mallard and Her One Lone Baby

Most of the ducklings have matured and are about ready to leave their parents watchful eye, but I found this mother and baby today and couldn't believe how small the duckling was. This is taken at an adjoining pond which is quite small and almost full of beautiful lily pads, so it was fun to see them negotiate through the maze!!

My youngest granddaughter Aria came to visit this afternoon while her 12 year old sister was having a birthday party at their home. We had fun making mini collages ( 3" x 3" stretched canvas!!). She is such a smarty...busy this summer going to lots of camps, learning to swim, etc. So glad I got to see her before heading back to the boat next week.
