A Daily Ritual

Every day for quite some time now I have noticed this Butcher Bird, sitting on the upper most branches of the Norfolk Pine tree, singing his beautiful song.

He doesn't just pop up there for a minute or two, have a quick tweet, then fly away. This little fellow can spend perhaps half an hour or more up there, constantly singing.

It has me wondering if he is calling out to any other Butcher Bird who may hear his lovely melodies, him believing she will hear his voice, become completely smitten with him, and they will fly away through the trees together to live happily ever after.

I do hope she is listening.
