Monbiel Valley

Another sunny day, but by mid morning the clouds were rolling in. We decided to go on a bike ride up the Monbiel Valley to a little chalet restaurant for a drink and then cycle back home. The scenery along the way was spectacular, as can be seen here.

It was rather hot work but cool once we got there and sat in the breeze. Then the boys all raced back to go to the village pool to meet friends while Gavin and I slowly cycled back, with Murdoch running a leisurely pace alongside us. He is a very fit dog and if we allowed him he would have raced off after the boys probably damaging his paws in doing so.

This is the view onto the Silvretta Galcier which is at the end of this valley. There were so many beautiful alpine flowers about, I wish I knew their names. We have a book on the flowers but somehow the ones I see are seldom in the book.
