A Space Of One's Own

I often see a heron on the river Almond in Edinburgh, but usually at ground level. This fine specimen was high up sheltering from the rain. He was busy cleansing himself for a good 7 or 8 minutes while I waited in the rain with my 70-300 at full zoom, hand held, waiting for him to show his face. Ultimately it was worth the wait.
