Oh bother!

I went down to the vegetable garden this morning to collect our miserable harvest and pulled up what I thought was a weed. Then I noticed a strong smell of ginger. So it appears that I've pulled up the only bit of ginger that I've ever managed to grow, but hopefully it'll have enough energy to send up another shoot.

p.s. we bury our kitchen vegetable waste along the edges of the vegetable beds and there must have been a bit of fresh ginger in there. There were also three broad bean plants busy growing too!
