Its burlesque

Didn't do much during the day, and went out early evening.

Fringe show 20: Susan Calman - Always (A work in progress) (3.5*)
Susan says she has several different audiences including Radio 4 listeners and Jongleurs audiences. This show was a bit Radio 4 and I’m more Jongleurs. She seems lovely, I like what she’s doing, but I prefer more edgy stuff. That isn’t what this was, but what it was was good. It was a lovely hour, very nicely observed and well delivered comedy. I particularly enjoyed her song about social media.

Fringe show 21: Captain Morgan and the sands of time (3*)
Captain Morgan is a pirate searching for the sands of time and the gift of time travel. This comedy play was acted by two young guys with no set, and a musician on the side. It was well done and the actors put a lot of energy into the performance – they were very physical which led to some entertaining moments. The place was packed out and we had to sit on the floor, and most of the people there were in hysterics. It was extremely well received. Overall I thought it was alright. It was pretty good, if a bit silly, but that’s fine.

Fringe show 22: Silhouette Burlesque
A compilation show of burlesque and cabaret acts at the Tron church. A good range of burlesque. It made me happy that one of the songs performed was the first dance from our wedding (dream a little dream) and I also very much enjoyed some pirate-based song parodies from Jollyboat.
