It was high time we had a new gate at the entrance to our yard. This started as a birthday wish on the part of Ceridwen, and turned into a major project - finding someone who was willing to tackle a large gate in green oak, waiting months for him to make it, and then the day of the hanging, when for once we were all at home including Huw, Gwyn and myself. No one was quite sure if it would work, but it did, like a dream: the heavy gate swinging effortlessly from the old gate stone, and coming to rest exactly where it should. Our old friend Gill was there to take the photo, and Casey of course had to be part of the tableau...
