A measurement of distance

Back home from Macclesfield with a bad cold and another collection of things my dad accumulated. Together with 2inch wood screws, odd bits of wood and industrial glass wear, metal rulers were an obvious fetish.

The ruler on top is tiny and folds down like a concertina to fit into your pocket. On the back it says: James Kenyon & Son Ltd, Derby Street Mills, Bury. Then: manufacturers of woollen, linen and cotton cloths for machinery purposes. I'm not sure wether the little ruler was a promotional item or something used in cloth manufacturer.

Interesting though none the less.
