Pointed Pirouettes

Pirouette

young solitary soul
evolved in the age of ice
you shun the shivered cold

your migration memory blank
goodbyes uncharted land
yet summer sunlight wanes

the urge to gorge so strong
twisting tirelessly, you dance by
feeder , flower and vine

finally fed fortified quite fat
alone you fly the sky road
skim treetops, spin into the wind

five hundred miles you
pirouette the width of waterways
to find your winter home.

For the Record,
This day came in dismal dark with misty rain and cool humid air
