Porty People and Places

The Bicycle Ballet's Strictly Cycling show wheeled into downtown Porty this morning. They performed an excellent mime and dance routine on and off their bikes and encouraged audience participation in front of The Town Hall. Some of the children thought it was the best thing to hit Porty since yesterday's Beach Busk! What the gentleman who had just got off the bus made of it all I cannot begin to imagine!

Later we joined the bicycle cavalacade to Leith Links and had an interesting interface on the promenade with Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home Fun Dog Walk. That excursion features as My Daily Beach Blip. We went on to the Mela Festival on Leith Links and came back along the virtually deserted promenade. The chilly west wind had driven the punters away. The ice cream seller was cradling his head in his hands - but he had had a good day yesterday so perhaps he should not have looked so gloomy. I am looking forward to Edinburgh based blippers capturing the Festival Fireworks this evening. I hope the wind does not spoil the effects too much. Hip flasks and thermals will be the order of the night I suspect.

I was sorry to learn of the passing of TV communicating legend Sir David Frost today. He led were countless others have aspired and followed. I remember his Jet Set life presenting his TV programmes on both sides of the Atlantic and being able to do so thanks to his use of Concorde. That was the life that was RIP Sir David.
