Peanut Butter

For many years we have been buying peanut butter for Miss Flum, the only family member to eat it, but nowadays are increasingly choosy about the list of ingredients. We have to ensure that no unsustainably-sourced palm oil, nor too much salt, nor sugar, nor any other unnecessary or unwelcome ingredient, has been incorporated.

Today we made our own, with peanuts and a very little oil, salt and sugar, using a recipe from the internet. It cost roughly the same as a supermarket bargain range and took only about half an hour. And it is very successful.

We won't be buying any for a good while.
