Nor'west during dusk

Doesn't it look calm and peaceful, great cloud formations, wonderful light, a couple of birds gliding through, a river meandering by but it was none of those things - look at the river sand rising on the bottom right and those clouds tell a story.

Howling gale force winds created the clouds, lifting the river sand and nearly sent me flying had hubby not got hold of me. Grit flew through the air, through our hair, in our eyes and if the mouth was open it was in there to! Not cold but really powerful and ever so noisy.

This is the scene behind me which really captures the moment - in fact I might just change this shot but will have a quiet think first over a hot cuppa.

There are more strong nor'west gales forecasted for tomorrow and maybe just a few drops of rain. Hubby and I hope to go on a road trip - perhaps to Lake Ellesmere.

Happy Tuesday blippers :)

Edit: Lovely to have lunch out with mum and Daughter E today - changes in the air for Daughter E, quite exciting but only time will tell.

9.55pm - Gale force winds are causing severe power surges, the wind is howling round the house, the roof is rattling and the house shuddering - it will be a very noisy night! Turning the computer off now - Goodnight.......
