Every Day Is A holiday!

Blipmeet With Debbi

Can you believe I chose the spider? Ugh....but he's so amazingly beautiful....unlike the two of us after a day in 90 degree weather......yes we were Hot, but not that kind of "Hot" :)))

What a day we had...I can't say how much I enjoyed Debbi and her wonderful parents who followed the two of us into Smith and Bybee lakes where we encountered the biggest flock of Great White Egrets I've ever seen. They were "geo caching" as they went along...what a fun thing to do while hiking.

We saw blue heron, grebe, coots, lots of wood ducks, and heard a raptor take out a small egret -- sad, but part of nature.

After lunch we headed to Whitaker Pond where we saw this spider, and my first Bewick's wren...how exciting. We ran into a fellow who works for the government looking for exotic insects which have come in from other countries on pallets in this industrial section of North Portland. He was describing what he did when we noticed some moths paying lots of attention to him....come to find out he had been working with pheromones over a year ago, which attract these moths and this stayed in his system.

Thanks again Debbi for including me in your family vacation...always good to see your smiling face and get those good vibes...that positive outlook you have!
