Emergency (Golden) Tree Blip...

Full moon was hidden by a bank of cloud in the west and so a change of plan...

...get a time exposure of the first train of the day, as it hurtles (well, grinds slowly) over the arched brick bridge over the River Avon! Simple!

Except, the trains that early in the morning only travel on the centre rail track, or so it seems, and weren't visible from where I was standing - and where the camera looked. I had very average 90 second exposures of the bridge, a bit of cloud-scudded sky and no visible movement in the water. A bit boring...!

So, as I sat on a nearby bench, after, wondering what I should do and where to go next I looked up and thought, 'why the heck not', pointed the camera upward and opened the shutter for eight minutes; this being the result.

It sort of works - better possibly that it should have, considering I didn't aim the camera with any accuracy and totally guessed the exposure. The only light source is from a street lamp just out of frame on the right hand side. So, no, autumn has not come early to this part of the world - and perhaps maybe the moon will be less shy tomorrow night?

Lens is Nikkor 10-24mm.
