Night before Mid Autumn Festival

Well tonight was the big night that nearly all of DB (not quite all!!!) gather on our beach for the Lantern Festival/Moon Festival/Mid Autumn Festival. The youngsters (and, ahem, some oldsters) adorn themselves in fluorescent neon plastic jewellery looking rather futuristic, almost robotic, if you can imagine, in the dark.

The weather was PERFECT. We enjoyed some anti pasti, prosecco, cheese, wine, and a whole load more. We usually take down our nice comfy picnic chairs and our huge straw Persian mat .... which makes for a very pleasant, comfortable experience.

I've tried to capture some of the atmosphere, showing the fluorescent lights, the full moon and some lanterns!

Tomorrow is the actual public holiday and I guess I shall eat some more yummy moon cakes.
