Berry nice

There were a lot of extra children here this afternoon, and I ended up taking all nine, on bikes, to the park. A bit scary. Luckily everyone made it in one piece.
On the way home we stopped to gather some elderberries, for making jelly. I made some just with apples last week, but the recipe is actually called hedgerow jelly, so yesterday Lily and friends gathered some brambles, and we topped up the berry quota today.
I didn't expect any of the children would want to help with the task of pulling all the berries off the stalks, but Rohan and Noah got really into it, and had a little system going, keeping the green ones out of the mix.
So stage one is done, all the fruit dripping through a muslin, which is going to be a beautiful colour once we're finished. Bonus.
