I BETTER LOOK AROUND

where the swans or canadian geese are, I thought in the morning. A blue sky, but oh so cold it was.
I had seen yesterday evening a lot of the geese together at the nearby pond. This morning they were all gone. And the swan family nowhere to be seen.
I walked to the communal garden, where the autumn was visible, very much so, and I took this picture of the seed head.

My haiku:

The gardenersl were
Busy to put sunflowers
Down upon their knees

And the proverb:

Dat zal gaan als een schoenborstel, daar in zeven jaar geen smeer in is geweest.

Translation: That will succeed as a shoe brush, that in seven years no polish
has been seen.
