Ernie in October

This is my blip for World Animal Day today.

Ernie is our "office Boston Terrier", brought here each day by his owner Ollie. I last blipped Ernie back on 13th June when he was 3 months old. He is now 7 months old and growing fast.

Today he was playing on our back lawn when this shot was taken. He is a real little beauty, I mean gem of a dog. He loves to play and roll around on the grass.

Now some not so good doggie news. Just before we left Albuquerque, staying in the house with 7 dogs, I took a photo of the newest rescue arrival they had named Duke, and their oldest dog, Coco. See my blip of them on 22nd September.

We have now had the sad news that Coco had to be put to sleep as she was in pain with a large and fast growing tumour in her abdomen.

Secondly, poor old Duke has now been taken to the local animal refuge centre, as the 2 smaller dogs could not adjust to the size and character of the new addition to the household. They felt threatened and could not settle. Unfortunately Duke had to go after all attempts to find his owner failed. No doubt he had been dumped, a terrible thing to do to any animal. We hope he finds the good new home he deserves.
