Out of reach

Another bitty day at work. I hope that next week I can do something more substantive. Most of the afternoon was spent on documentation, which is important - it just boring to write.

At the station in the village there is an apple tree. I think it's probably grown from a discarded core. It has apples on it this year but they are mostly just out of reach. I managed to dislodge one apple to eat but that was it. I think one parent is probably an Granny Smith, based on the appearance of the apple, it's hard texture and the fact it's a common shop variety. Sadly the Granny Smith isn't the best apple in the world and doesn't do well this far from the equator, so British grown ones are only suitable for the pot.
