A view from Jeanneb

Around Kildwick.

Another Aire Valley walk this morning starting in the village of Kildwick. This used to be a very narrow and bad bend on the road through to Skipton and beyond but is now almost traffic less thanks to the by pass.

This is St Andrew's church where our walk started (at 10.20am according to the church clock). The stone dated 1668 in the foreground is an ancient sundial and the site of the village stocks.

We crossed the canal (Leeds -Liverpool) and climbed up to Kildwick Hall and then on to Farnhill Moor, retracing our steps for a while from last Saturday's walk, before crossing over a wall onto Kildwick Moor and farmland which lead us back down to Kildwick Grange. A lovely hamlet of old houses and converted barns.

No great views today as it was rather grey but non the less an enjoyable walk especially in the company of Corinthian Column and Wendles56.
