Bling

Saturday, as I mentioned earlier this week, is Dragonboat racing here in Kettwig. We did it last year for the first time and had so much fun not winning (and yet getting more press than any of those teams who dared to take it seriously) that we thought we'd do it all again.
The outfits remain the same (afterall, if it ain't broke why fix it?) pink wig, pink and green tutu, black leggings and a bright pink hoodie emblazoned with the team name 'Puff the Magic Dragon' * - but this year we're adding to the ensemble, neon pink and green legwarmers (it's cold out on the river in October you know!) a tiara and we're blinging up the hoodies with the use of bedazzler...we're already planning next year's outfit - we want wings!
Gotta love a sporting event where the kit is the most important factor (to us anyway - the other teams seem to think it's all about the winning)

* Unfortunately, despite the number of fluent German speakers in our expat group we overlooked the fact that 'puff' is German for brothel...
