Helmeted Guineafowl (Numida meleagris)

There are hundreds, if not thousands, of them in the Reserve! We had to laugh at the way they stormed you chalet when they saw you outside! They are always on the lookout for something to eat, and will eat almost anything you leave outside your chalet!

We fed them bread and seeds and popcorn and ...... well, any leftovers we could lay our hands on! It sounds like a herd of cattle storming in when they come running towards you with their hard feet and picking the soil with their hard beaks!

More about them here!
