Thrax

Today was unexpectedly bright and clear and the mirror-like reflections and towering skies were photogenic in all directions. It was very quiet in Bantry with a palpable sense of loss still hanging over the town after one of its well known and talented young men died tragically in a car accident last week.

Bantry is no stranger to loss. Thrax is the tug boat that manages the tankers supplying the Whiddy Island oil depot in Bantry Bay (seen on the horizon here) where, in 1978, there was a terrible disaster when the Betelgeuse tanker exploded killing 50 people.
