Bean's Birthday Party

A few days early, but it was Bean's 5th Birthday Party today!

Instead of going to church this morning we headed out to Dunham again, at Bean's request. It was still a bit soggy from yesterday's rain, but we put the boys in trainers because you can't really climb trees in wellyboots! The boys and Steve and Grandma had a play at the log pile, while Grandad and Uncle Matt and Auntie Sue went off to explore the gardens. We went for an icecream before heading back to the car for a picnic in the boot (again, Bean's request!), before setting off for Gran and Grandad's house for the birthday party.

So good to have so much family around - Ruth and Francis were there, Auntie Joan, Matt and Sue, my parents, Steve's parents. There was a truly magnificent birthday table, we even played pass the parcel, the boys had party bags (thankyou Auntie Ruth for organising the pass the parcel and the party bags!), Bean had the most perfect presents (and Steve and I are so so grateful to all the family members who reined themselves in and didn't go overboard with presents! He remembers every present he received, and every one is special to him!) and declared it to be the Best Birthday Party EVER.
