After the Storm

We had a short, but sudden electrical storm last night. The first clap of thunder gave me a fright, it was so close and loud, a crashing rumble that shook the house. It came with a hiss and clatter of hail. The storm seemed to be going around in circles, judging by the noise.

This poor Iceland poppy opened too soon and had her beauty spoiled by the hail.

This afternoon I pottered about in the warm sunshine, sowing lettuce, zucchini, basil, chives and lettuce seeds in containers. I'm ready to plant Joi choi and spinach plants in big pots as soon as the sun gets low.
