Living in a fish bowl

The bottom 15 feet or so along the side of this circa 1925 Amsterdam-style brick corner building is wrapped in mirrors, with the exception of the huge painted goldfish aquarium. The light coloured brick and window that can be seen in the photo is a reflection of the building across the street. The side of this artistic house is actually purple. The reflection is much nicer!

This commentary on living in close proximity to so many people is one to which I can relate. It is a quite a contrast for K and me, having come from the quiet privacy of our home in Burlington to the densely populated Amsterdam. We love our sunlit apartment with its lovely large windows, but when the drapes are open it sometimes does feel like we are living in a fish bowl. However, it is a very nice fish bowl and we are very happy here.
