Beeches

We had a leisurely drive eastwards, enjoying the autumn colours and watching numerous red kites cruising about just above the road. We found that we had an hour or two to spare so stopped at Burnham Beeches - first time I'd ever been there in spite of having lived in various nearby locations for many years. We wandered about in Egypt woods and even crossed an infant river Nile.

Then we went on in to the Great Wen and met up with the False Beards for a wee rehearsal before the gig in the Green Note. Lots more old friends turned up there - a very enjoyable evening. Afterwards Mr H gamely drove us out of the traffic hell that is London and up to Milton Keynes to give us a head start for the journey home tomorrow.
