Into The Megalong

You descend into the Megalong Valley floor via a steep narrow gorge, lined with temperate rainforest whose growth forms a green tunnel roof overhead as you drive. The sound of fast flowing streams fills the air as does a bouquet of ferns, damp peat and fresh blossom. As the flatland begins to open out, the forest thins and evolves into eucalyptus woodland. Then finally the beginnings of broad open country begin to loom through a break in the trees ahead. Fairies and elves live here.
