Splitting Wood...

What a work out today was....

We split and moved 4 large truck loads of wood today..with the help of Matt, a very energetic 22 year old guy, plus Terry and I! Oh my god, my body hurts...but it was pretty awesome to see the large pile deminish.....but i reckon we've got quite a few more hours before it is all stacked and ready to keep us warm for the winter!!! We only use wood to heat the house, plus the 3 cabins (altho they do have alternative electric heat), and then of course we'll be adding another wood stove to the pottery....i need a drink!!!!

Also, what a cool piece of hydraulic machinery a splitter is!!!
Actually it felt good to be so physical, i'm sure i'll sleep very well, especially after that drink and perhaps a nice hot bath!!!
