Munich Day One: Christmas Jumpers

A most smooth and uneventful journey was the course of the day. It was almost as if the entire world conspired to get us to Munich…no traffic, aeroplane on time, security and passport control the quickest I have ever gone through.

The plane journey, as ever, was boring. I’m one of those people who is not good at sitting down in confined spaces for long periods of time, so aeroplanes are always not the best of fun! At the other end we were met by Laura and Tobias…seen in this photograph with Thom and I. More on the fact we’re all wearing Christmas jumpers later…

So, being in Germany, the first thing we had to do was go and get a beer from the airport. Yes, you read that right…aeroport. The only one in the country to have its own brewery and very good beer it was too. When we got to Laura’s flat, Thom and I gave them their presents…traditional English Christmas jumpers. Not so much a tradition in Germany, hence why we bought them! The novelty alone is worth it!

We ended up staying in the flat and finishing off a lot of bottles of alcohol and eating rather too much pasta. The perfect start I would say!
