Happy New Year everyone.

Busy start to 2014. Coffee at a friends home started the day. My school friend who is doing a few rounds against breast cancer attended and it was lovely to catch up with her daily grind. So courageous and determined it is not going to beat her. Took Mother along with me to give her some thing different to contemplate.

Home for a quick bite of lunch and then back in the car to drive down the Otago peninsula to Broad Bay where I picked 5 litres of black currants. A family-in-law have black currant canes which I get to pick from each year. It is a tedious job, picking, but enjoyable with the chatter and putting-to-rights we woman do so well!

Enjoyed an icecream on the way home from a local dairy/corner shop which was open to cater for the tourists in town. Saw this sign out in the bay and thought it was a good reminder to slow down and enjoy the laughs...
