Donkey

A chilly meander around the muddy paths near The Pineapple this afternoon. Total coincidence that I was there on the same date three years ago. Was covered in snow back then, but we've seen little of that this winter so far (though it's just been snowing/sleeting outside).

Clocked this donkey and pony on the road into the car park and, as Euan has a bit of a soft spot for donkeys, walked back for a quick chat with them. Not sure where his interest in them came from (though they do seem to visit the same barbers), but his big sister adopted one of them on his behalf and gifted this as part of his Christmas. In amongst all the other gadgety stuff he had, he seemed quite touched by this as he looked through all the bits and pieces that were in his 'adoption pack'. A really nice, thoughtful gift from his big sis.

So, he now has a picture of his donkey, 'Dillon', on his wall and we'll be planning a trip down to the Borders in the Spring when the sanctuary allows us to visit. Just as long as he's not expecting us to pack it up in the back of the car and bring it home to stay in his bedroom. That'd be a bit of dirty, smelly experience. For the donkey.
