Why do they make clothes pegs an assortment of bright colours? Is it a forlorn attempt to make the utterly mundane slightly less mundane? Are they trying to 'sex up' the humble peg??

Wikipedia informs me that, "A small but growing number of people are celebrating the humble clothes peg on May 6". Weirdos.
