I went across to Fife today, to see my oldest friend, PB. This was the view of Edinburgh from the train as it sped round the coast of Fife.
Later, we went to the football at New Bayview... as ever, it maintained its reputation as the coldest place to watch a game, in the history of sport.
The winter olympics will be balmy in comparison.

The howling gale didn't make for a silky demonstration of pinpoint passing....
