Messalina III

As I was doing the washing-up, I noticed that our Venus Flytrap, (named Messalina) is putting up two flower-spikes.
I learned somewhere (almost certainly from a David Attenborough programme) that they have to put out such long stalks for the flowers because they rely on flies for pollination, so they can't afford to have them caught in the traps below.
I can't remember what the flowers themselves are supposed to look like, so I will keep you updated if the buds ever open...
