Copacabana Beach

Sometimes the classic views can't be resisted and the postcard photographer's trade has to be honoured. We wandered out late and, on a whim, stepped into the lobby of the recently renovated Miramar Hotel which has been hidden behind scaffolding for the last two years. They have a swish restaurant on the ground floor and we also asked to see the roof terrace. A snooty lady on reception looked us up and down from Havaianas to tousled hair (in my case) and said, 'It's not possible'. But the lobby attendant, who had introduced us to her, maintained his pleas and the beautifully groomed and besuited Roberto was summoned from on high to give us a guided tour of the pool area. When he remarked that the view was free, I pounced like any good blipper would and asked if I could take a shot, 'Of course, sir!', he smoothly acquiesced.

Oh, and FIFA have taken it as their residence for the World Cup, although President Blatter is staying at the legendary Copacabana Palace Hotel....surprise, surprise!

Anyway, I had a few interesting blips in the can but decided to go with this one. I had to locate one of this type from my published blips recently for another purpose and found it sadly wanting...not anymore!
