Homework, anyone?

We've been thinking for a while about introducing a weekly 'assignment' on Blipfoto - a simple subject which we all get a chance to interpret in our own way. We've noticed recently that some contributors have already started feeding each other assignments, so we thought we'd stop twiddling our thumbs and give it a whirl.

We'll run this for a few weeks and see what the response is like - if it's any good we may look at ways to make it a more permanent feature.

So, here's how it works...

Every Friday afternoon, we'll outline a simple theme right here on the Blipblog. All contributors are invited to post entries in their journal which follow this theme, up until the following Thursday. You can do as many or as few as you like (and of course you don't have to take part at all if you don't want). On Friday, we'll do a quick round up of some of the previous week's entries and announce the next week's assignment.

To kick things off, your first assignment is 'Shoot thy neighbour' (or neighbor if you prefer). You can interpret that any way you like, but remember that Blipfoto is as much about words as it is pictures, so make sure you share the story behind the picture.

If you want to take part, please tag each of your relevant entries with 'assignment1' so we can find them easily. Also note that all normal Blipfoto rules apply, which of course means that the images have to be posted against the date you take them.

Finally, if you have any suggestions for future assignments, please drop us a line using the contact form.

That's it - get shooting!
