Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

Box on the Hillside

Boxes like this one are springing up all over our neighborhood. There’s not a green one and a pink one and a blue one and a yellow one but it seems to me they’re all somewhat ticky tacky and look just the same. They make me think of Pete Seeger’s
recording of Malvina Reynold's song, Little boxes (altho I certainly don't think it refers to the conformity of the people living here - this is a Seattle city neighborhood)

An on and off sun and showers day in Seattle for MONO MONDAY: Architecture. (see Hobbs.) We’ve watched this house and others like it go up - they are such a contrast to the older ones close by all around - look to the right of this one up the hill - to see how the neighborhood once looked. Part of necessary densifying the city, at least this isn’t an apodment, buildings with 8 tiny units per floor, 1 shared kitchen and no parking.(but that’s another blip, another day....)
