Abu Dhabi Iconic Landmarks #10

Had to do a visa run again today. The weather was lousy- sand storms and rain. On our way home, I found this place at last. We will revisit when open. This is in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, rather than the city.

Al Jahili Fort in the unique oasis city Al Ain

Erected in 1898 by Sheikh Zayed The First, the Al Jahili Fort in the oasis city of Al Ain is one of the great landmarks and symbols of the United Arab Emirates' cultural heritage. Located on the border with Oman, Al Ain is known as the "garden city" of the Arabian Gulf on account of its luxuriant vegetation. It is one of the most beautiful spots imaginable for open-air concerts. The inner courtyard offers up to 450 visitors an atmospheric setting for chamber music; seating at the large stage is provided for some 3000 concertgoers.
