Bending the Truth

Artificial flowers, and why not?
Everlasting spring blooms
Never dying, but lingering on
Out living their season.

Narcissi grace our table
Colour on this grey day
Teasing us with the truth
Of not being what they seem
Really quite fake.
But confident in their certainty
Of outliving the fresh daffodils
Flowering on the window sill.
