Who is who?

This time I managed to visit the artificial island on the way home from work. I arrived just at the moment when the swans were trading places on the nest. I'm not an expert on identifying male and female swans but I think it was the male who was about to settle onto the eggs. I was only able to get the camera out of the bag in time to take a few hasty photos before he sat down but I'm fairly sure that I can count 8 eggs in them. I didn't think that any of those photos were good enough to blip though so I chose this one instead.

I'd hoped to see the Great Crested Grebes again but they were nowhere to be seen.
