Walking the Cake...

After our 2 days in Gibara we headed back to the resort via Holguin. We wandered around the city for a few hours, Terry got his Cuban haircut....looks so handsome.....and i spent some time sitting and watching. i came upon this couple walking with the cake in their hands. This wasn't the first time i'd seen this....people seem to buy cakes from bakeries and then just walk them home!!! struck me as so amazing...so i stopped this couple and asked them if i could take a photo. the cake was for her father's birthday! Such a strange thing to see and so often!

We also spent some time at the market - i bought i new leather belt, $10....and Terry tried out a few but decided against any!

then it was an hours drive back to the resort. i enjoyed our time exploring Gibara and Holguin, but i have to admit i was pretty pleased to be back at the familiar resort, our lovely room and the comfort of knowing that i wasn't going to be ambushed by some very nice Cubans, trying to sell me stuff! it can be a bit overwhelming.
