Krakow

It's getting colder folks!

Took the train to Krakow for the day. Decided to go in December to catch the Christmas market, so armed with a latte and muffin from Coffee-Heaven, Jean and I got the 7:15 service, that got us in just after 10am. It started to snow half way into the journey, not terribly heavy, but snow, nonetheless! We walked into the centre of town and got to the Rynek and to the Mulled-wine stall (shaped as a massive barrel) by 11! Perfect. A vodka/wine stop in a warm bar as respite from the cold market-place was called for, before a quick walk around the castle (didn't go in - will save that for the summer!), then we met up with a couple of other friends who were in Krakow for the weekend, for a cup of hot chocolate (melted choc, basically!) before setting off for home.

Liked the city and shall look forward to a return in the warmer months to see it properly! My camera decided to play silly buggers; I think it was too cold - the lens got stuck (not dropped) so there were few photos. This is one of the many delightful jewelery stalls from earlier in the day.
