'The Station' it might be but Grand Central it ain't....once a thriving pub/hotel but closed for several years now....planning consent was approved as far back as 2012 for conversion to a restaurant on the ground floor with apartments above. Work started but soon foundered when the new owner/developer ran out of cash.....all rather depressing really, very much like Whitley Bay generally on a wet Monday morning.....but hey, gloom shared is gloom halved.....
