Making friends with a puppy

I think my partner of a long time has had a personality transplant. He used to be fairly reserved with strangers but since cutting down on his work commitments he engages people in cafes in long conversations, chats to strangers in the street about trivia and knows every dog walker within a 10 mile radius. It is now me who hisses "don't get involved" when it looks as though he is going to launch into a chatty conversation when we have only 5 minutes left on the parking meter, Today was no exception. He spotted a beautiful husky puppy and before we knew what was happening it was thrust into his arms. So, of course this had to be today's blip.
