Mt Fuji Cherry Trees

In our lovely Memorial Gardens in Blackheath (the ones next to the hall) there are three paths that converge into the centre of the park. Along one of these paths are rows of what I'm pretty sure are Mt Fuji cherries. Another path that is rather symmetrically aligned had an odd collection of not very much, so we bit the bullet a couple of years ago and, in conjunction with the council, removed the few nondescript things and planted rows of cherries to match.

This is not a great shot of these trees (clearly they are the established ones). I have one from a couple of weeks ago that is much better, but blipped something else on the day. But I've put this up today as autumn is almost at a close and wanted to record this pretty avenue.

The ones we planted are doing well - not one has been lost, stolen or damaged. And they're growing well. One of the nicest things about planting something is imagining how beautiful it will become.
