Catching the rain

I thought this photo is very appropriate today considering it has been another wet day.

This is our rain gauge - an integral piece of equipment if you live on a farm. It's interesting to read the gauge after rain, and to compare the different measurements that other members of the community get in their gauge, compared to what we get - and sometimes the difference in rain fall is amazing for such a short distance down the road.

It's also interesting keeping a record of the rain fall, although sometimes it can also be depressing, especially in the middle of a drought, and you look back to see how long it has been since it rained!
