Stornoway

A wee trip up to Stornoway (Steornabhagh!) in the boat to get some victuals - it's only seven miles up the coast whereas the road inland is double that. And we don't have a car. That's probably the main reason why we went by boat. That, and the kudos for the skip of sailing into the middle of the town and tying up on their nice new pontoons. And we were met by M, a relative of the skipper - tattooed, rolly smoking, in his 4x4 loaded with fishing gear. As previous top copper in the town, we got much respect on the drive to get some diesel. I think I need to organise some such companions for my return to Edinburgh rather than effete academics.
Anyway, he headed away and we wandered off to get some papers, a coffee and of course a couple of boxes of red wine.
And then, a fine blow back right down the coast again to Marvig; fire on, feet up.
